I've been on a creative kick here lately. I go through fazes of doing lots of stuff at the same time and then I'll do nothing for weeks. This has been one of those weeks when I've had several things going on at once. I've gained some inspiration recently from the curtains that my mom made for the big window in my craft room. The fabric is by scrapbook paper designer Heidi Grace and I just adore it! It's so perfect for that room, my scrapbooking taste and just me in general! Here are a couple of pictures...
There is quite a bit of fabric left over, so I decided to cover the lightswitch plate too by using some Mod Podge. This also shows you a really great closeup of the fabric. There are other words on it like sing, dance, imagine....
While I am on the subject of Mod Podge, while I was working on the switchplate, I was also making these altered letters for my kichen. A couple of years ago, I had seen some red letters that said "EAT" in a Pottery Barn catalog and I just loved it. Well, I covered mine in red & white gingham paper and I also decided to antique the edges some to make them look older. They will be sitting up on top of my cabinets once I figure out what I'm going to sit them on since there is a lip around the edge of the top of my cabinets. Here is a before picture and then a picture of the completed project...
A friend of mine from high school is getting married today. Here is the card that I made for her and her husband Chris....
The Inside of the card
We've had some very hot and humid days here recently. Today especially is extremely miserable. I haven't taken any new pictures of our garden, but things are sure growing fast! No veggies or fruit yet, but there are several blooms. Lanny has this weekend off and we're gonna stick close to home....enjoy the air conditioner for the most part. I hope that everyone has a very blessed weekend and upcoming week!
Awesome creative work as always Alicia! I wish I had half your talent!
