The month of May was eventful for sure! On May 25th, my perfect and precious nephew Noah was born to my brother Derek and sister-in-law Michelle. He weighed 6 lbs. 3 oz. and was 19.5 inches long. I am sure that he'll be a big part of future blog posts from now on! Here are a couple of pictures of Noah. The first was taken not too long after he was born and the 2nd one was taken 8 days after he was born.
Here lately, I have been looking for different ideas for projects for my Silhouette. A week ago I decided to give the soap dispensers in our bathrooms a little bit of an upgrade. Can you guess which one goes in my bathroom and which one goes in Lanny's bathroom? Ha ha!
Over a year ago, I gave my spice rack a makeover. Well, at that time it was good, but eventually it wasn't working. The labels, glue, and paper just wouldn't stay stuck to the lids, the ink ran when it got wet, and they got dirty. So, I decided that it was time for a 2nd makeover and this time around I was going to break out the big gun and use my Silhouette and some vinyl I am THRILLED with the results.
Here is a picture of my computer screen with the Silhouette software open. I have all the spice jar labels set up and ready to be printed.
The Silhouette doing its job.....cutting the red vinyl.
This is after it was all cut out and I had cut each label apart from the single sheet of vinyl. I then took each label and adhered them to a sheet of transfer paper.
The labels all cut out and adhered to the transfer paper. The next step was that I took the transfer paper off and pressed each of the to the lids of the jars. After that, I had to carefully and tediously (the most time consuming part) remove all the pieces of the letters without damaging the vinyl and leaving all of the letter "islands" in place.
Here is the final product! I am very very happy with it! It matches my kitchen perfectly and these should last a lot longer!
I don't have any updated garden pictures yet. The plants are growing, but will have to have either plant new or transplant some cucumbers. Waiting another week or so to decide what we are going to do. Have a blessed week!
